This Zeeschouw, designed by A.C. Vermolen, is 1 of 7 built and is characterized by an elegant appearance, combined with a practical livable and old-fashioned cozy Dutch interior. Although the ship is not that big by modern standards, it is still a pleasant ship to stay on for a longer period of time.
This ship, beloved by the owners, has been in possession for almost 30 years. With the eventually disembarkation of all 4 children, the 3 sleeping places in the front have been changed into a 2 person bed transversely, this can of course be changed back.
With the retirement age approaching and the intention to stay on the ship longer, it was decided in 2017 to modernize the ship. In 2017, an almost new engine was installed and in 2019 it was decided to carry out very thorough maintenance to prepare the ship for the next 30 years. However, lung-covid effects throw a spanner in the works for the owner a few years later and a sale is on the agenda now…
The Refit, carried out by “Scheepsmotoren Eeuwe de Jong” in Heeg, includes a new 4-cylinder Nanni with new surrounding technology, a fully blasted hull with a new paint system, a stainless steel gunwale and smaller items.
Everything very nicely executed, see the photos!
De Schuytevaer is also located in Heeg, where it can be viewed by appointment.
